Government health officials warned dieters and body builders Friday to immediately stop using Hydroxycut, a widely sold supplement linked to cases of serious liver damage and at least one death.

The Food and Drug Administration said the company that makes the dietary supplement has agreed to recall 14 Hydroxycut products. Available in grocery stores and pharmacies, Hydroxycut is advertised as made from natural ingredients. At least 9 million packages were sold last year, the FDA said.


Dr. Linda Katz of the FDA's food and nutrition division said the agency has received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a 19-year-old boy living in the Southwest. The teenager died in 2007, and the death was reported to the FDA this March.

ciao! altre news in merito? sono stato fortunato a comperare il prodotto 6 mesi fa e avevo intenzione di prenderlo per questo mese per aiutarmi nel bruciare un pò di grasso ma questa notizia mi ha messo in allarme? c'è qualcuno che lo ha usato con le dosi consigliate in questo periodo? ci sono degli effetti evidenti che vengono fuori oppure puoi star male da subito? mi piacerebbe avere ulteriori info ma al momento anche il web offre poco.

Ciao arazious, oltre al thread segnalato da dert, devo però informarti che non riceverai alcun consiglio sull'utilizzo di prodotti non autorizzati in Italia, in quanto considerati farmaci.

Guru mi è venuta in mente una domanda leggendo questa notizia: se io compro un integratore notificato, e poi diventa illegale, io cosa dovrei fare x legge? Cioè immagino che quello che farebbe una persona normale(oltre chi continuerebbe a usarlo:D) sarebbe buttarlo, ma x legge bisognerebbe consegnarlo a qualche organo competente?

In teoria, immagino dovrebbe essere consegnato alla ASL o ai NAS.
